    Queensland Cultural Centre
    The Queensland Cultural Centre is home to a Performing Arts Complex, the Queensland Art Gallery, the Queensland Museum, State Library of Queensland as well as several shops, cafes and restaurants.

    Museum of Brisbane 
    Located on the ground floor of 157 Ann Street, just around the corner from King George Square. The Museum of Brisbane is open daily and all exhibitions, events and activities are FREE.

     

    Gallery of Modern Art 
    The Queensland Art Gallery is Queensland’s premier visual arts institution and a leading art museum nationally. The Gallery’s driving philosophy is to connect art and people. The Gallery was established in 1895 as the Queensland National Art Gallery. Throughout its early history the Gallery was housed in a series of temporary premises and did not have a permanent home until 1982. In 2006 the architecturally acclaimed Gallery of Modern art opened just 150 metres from the Queensland Art Gallery on Brisbane’s south bank.

     

    South Bank 
    South Bank is the heart of Brisbane’s cultural, recreational and entertainment scene. The 17 hectares, known as The Parklands, is just across the Brisbane River from the CBD. It’s a picturesque spot and home to 20 restaurants and eateries catering to all tastes and budgets. One of the favourite attractions of South Bank is Breaka Beach where sun, sand and lifeguards deliver a beach experience in the heart of the city.

     

    Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary 
    This is the world’s oldest and largest koala sanctuary with over 130 koalas. Here you will be given the opportunity to cuddle a koala any time of the day, feed kangaroos and lorikeets, hold a snake and encounter a variety of Australian animals. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is situated in Fig Tree Pocket, only 45 minutes drive.

     

    The Australia Zoo 
    Just over an hour’s drive north, you will be engulfed by animals and wildlife and you may even get a glimpse of the famous Irwin family. Australia Zoo holds day shows featuring different animals and wildlife and is the iconic tourist attraction of the Sunshine Coast.

     

    Theme Parks
    In less than an hour’s driving distance south you can enjoy the thrills and spills of the Gold Coast theme parks. Choices include Sea World, Warner Bros Movie World, Dream World, White Water World and Wet ‘N’ Wild.
